In math, Red Rhino's number of the day was 42 and the Green Gator's was 27. We practiced making these totals with coins and equations. Green Gators worked on representing subtraction with circle drawings and equations using the minus sign. The Red Rhinos worked on subtraction using numbers in the teens. They practiced this skills by creating equations using number cards and solving them with partners.
Today we also talked about adoption in honor of Diamond's adoption day. Mrs. Gearhart came in and read us a story about adoption and we created cards for Diamond.
We took our word study assessment and glued our words into our word study notebook. We also performed our reader's theatre for the first time today!
