Monday, November 23rd

Today we celebrated Diamond's adoption with cupcakes and juice. We also had the chance to see her adoption ceremony on video and talk about the special parts of the day.

In math, the Red Rhinos worked on story problems that were in Spanish and in English. The story problems had information missing and extra information as well. We had to fill in the missing information and identify the information that was extra and then solve the problems. The Green Gators worked on subtraction problems and writing the equations for those problems.

In reading we read a funny poem about Thanksgiving and than wrote about our reactions and connections that we made with the poem. We also received our new words for word study that we'll be working with for the next 2 weeks and sorted those words. After that we did our Daily Five.

During writing, the Green Gators talked about how to add description to their writing and worked for a little while on the writing they want to publish. The Red Rhinos chose the work that they would like to have published and worked on those stories.
