Today was a great day! We started our morning with our word study assessments and a morning meeting in Spanish. We then glued our word study words in our word study notebooks. We were all excited when Mrs. Zodarecky came into our classroom to read us a story called Herschel and the Hannukah Goblins. She taught us about the charcateristcs of a fiction story which include the characters, problem, and solution.
In the afternoon we listened to a little more of our Flat Stanley book. Then we explored what happened when we dropped our parachutes. We learned that air affects the way that our parachutes fall. We learned that air resistence causes our parachutes to fall slowly. The students will be brining their prachutes home today. Please ask your child to explain air resitance to you. We had a great surprise when Tolulope's dad arrived and became our first mystery reader of the year. He read us the story Froggy Eats Out. To end the day we determined which table won the organization trophy for the week. Congratulations to the yellow table. Also congratulations to Ian and Danielito who won the estimation prize for the week!
