Today was a productive day in C-7 and C-8. Our question of the day was: What animal do you like the least? A monkey, Pig, or Lion? We learned that most of our friends like pigs the least, then lions, then monkeys. We showed this using the number sentence 25 < 2. Because only two of our friends liked monkeys the least, we said that 2 is less than 25 (the number of friends who liked pigs the least).
We continued to practice read to self and read to someone, and are working on building our stamina for reading for even longer periods of time--we made it to 21 minutes today!!

In the afternoon, we watched Senorita Wesley and Mrs. Helfer act out a skit, and we talked about what Mrs. Helfer did that good scientists DON'T do, and what good scientists SHOULD do, and then we made a list of the science rules for our classroom.
At the end of the day, we did our estimation jar, and counted exactly 111 pennies--Jordon was the lucky winner for the second week in a row. The red table won the Most Organized Team award for the second week in a row as well. Our number of the day was 17, and we showed this using a wide variety of number sentences and coin combinationss.

Have a great weekend!
