What a busy Wednesday. We started our day with morning meeting in Spanish. We sang our morning greeting song, helped write morning message, and discussed the calender. This morning our question of the day was Cuantos Boisillios tienes in la ropa hoy? We learned that a greater number of people were wearing no buttons today. The fewest number of people were wearing two pockets. After our morning meeting we once again reviewed what we do duirng read to self. Mrs. Helfer and Mrs. Wesley are very impressed with the INDEPENDENCE we are learning during this time. Today we really focused on making good choices about where we choose to sit during read to self. We are building our stamina...we successfully read for 11 minutes today! After reading workshop, we did some handwriting practice. Both classes practiced writing Frog Jump Capitals on our handwriting paper. Our classes, ended our morning again talking about how writers live the "writerly life." We read a book called I'm In Charge of )Celebrations. We are trying to really notice things around us (like good writers do). Ask your child to share with you something they noticed today!
After lunch we celebrated a birthday. Happy birthday Sarah Walter...were sorry you didn't get to share your treat on Friday! After our birthday celebration, we went to the Multipurpose Room to play Duck, duck, Goose. After our recess, we completed our number of the day book. Today's number was 11. Ask your child to share with you some of the number sentences they were able to create that equal 11.
