Today was another busy day! In the morning, our question of the day was: Which aninmal would you like to be: an elephant, or a monkey? We learned that more of our friends would rather be an elephant than a monkey, and using numbers, 25 is greater than 13. We also welcomed our new student, Jarel, to our classroom who joins us from his kindergarten class in Puerto Rico. We practiced asking him questions in Spanish and introduced ourselves in Spanish as well.
During Reading Workshop, we practiced the Daily Five, and worked on our word study sort activity, which was sort and re-write. During math today, the red rhinos continued to work with different shapes, and using our spatial reasoning to arrange certain shapes within a certain figure, then counting the total number of shapes used in the given figure.
